Family Service Journey Mapping
Presented by: Karen Copeland, Champions for Community Mental Wellness
Families who have children with mental health and other challenges are often asked to share their story multiple times to multiple service providers. The service journey map is a tool that can be used to empower families to share their story in a meaningful and powerful way with professionals. This session will provide the participants with information on how to create a high impact, visual representation of their service journey that can then be used in future meetings with professionals.
“Our journey map was a validation of all the time, energy and resources that we have utilized to provide services for our child with disabilities. It shows how complex our child’s needs are and how we have addressed each challenge she lives with. In sharing this with our current school team, they realized that we have addressed all our child’s needs from every angle possible.” – Parent
